Temperatures in the 60s today -- and the pigs think it's too darned hot. That's big momma, the pink pig, in her coating of mud. The other pigs are alternating sunbathing and mud bathing. It helps that they're around the feeder. "happy as a pig in slop" is a saying I've heard, and I didn't really understand it until I start to farm pigs. A happy pig is one that is sleeping on a pile of food, or mud, or mud and food mixed up together.
That feeder in the background sure has made life easier. It holds 2,000lbs of food (1 ton) at a time, and keeps it dry and in good condition. Means I only have to fill it every other week or so -- beats the heck out of carrying buckets every day. A little spendy; I recall it being north of $700 including shipping, but well worth the cost in my opinion.

Sounds just like buying extra watering cans for our layer hens... Only they are like $35 each... but it's nice to know that if I got hit by a truck, they would have 48 to 72 hrs worth of water....
that is a lazy day but I love pigs
that a nice picture I love it
