Moved the first batch of incubator-hatched turkeys out to the farm today. They're in a temporary pen in the greenhouse so that they can get acclimated to the noises at the farm and with it being dark every night. They've been under lights for the first 6 weeks, so the dark is kinda scary for these little guys. Takes about a week for them to get settled down to the routine, and then they'll go out on pasture for the rest of this year.

Hi Bruce, have been enjoying your blog for some time. I especially enjoy your cost analysis of raising animals for food. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing your hatch rates for those turkeys. I keep some bourban reds and was trying to run my own cost analysis on hatching some. Thanks!
