It looks kind of like a spaghetti squash, but not quite huh? I asked my neighbor about this once, he grows commercial pumpkins and other squashes, and I was wondering what things of his were volunteering in our fields that wash over in the floods or get carried by animals or whatever. He said who knows, as they hybridize easily on their own, so you can get funky crosses. I have noticed different looking ones even on the same vine. Our dog Maggie things they are vines of organic tennis balls, grown just for her! :)
Not sure what kind it is, but if you like it, maybe you could save some of those seeds and grow more next year? -Julie R
It's a FrankenPumpkin!
It looks like a cross between a pumpkin and a butternut squash.
Pumpkin/Hubbard squash cross, or maybe with that nipple looking lump on the end it's a pumpkin/turban squash cross. Doesn't matter what it is if it tastes good. Or at least the pigs can enjoy it.
